• Marlos Moreno , Bernardo , Johan Mojica (Girona FC vs. Deportivo Alavés) - Bernardo started on the right of their three-man defence with Johan Mojica as the left-wing-back in a 3-4-3. Marlos Moreno was on the bench like in most league matches. Bernardo had a decent match until he picked up an injury in the end of the first half and had to be replaced by Jonas Ramalho. That's when the goals started pouring in. Girona went 2-0 up front but somehow managed to concede 3 goals in the last 20 minutes, losing the match 2-3 in the end. A match to forget. (2-3 L)
  
• Daniel Torres (Girona FC vs. Deportivo Alavés) - He was on the bench, but was brought on for the last ~15 minutes for Tomás Pina as they needed fresh legs. He didn't really have a hand in the goals, but they did manage to score two. (2-3 W)
  
• Frank Fabra , Edwin Cardona & Wilmar Barrios (Boca Juniors vs. Arsenal Sarandi) - All three Colombians started as usual in a 4-3-3. Edwin Cardona was tried out in a midfield of three this time around instead of the left wing. Apparently he looked much better than he ever has for them when playing as a winger, assisting Guido Vadala in the first half and scoring a beautiful goal in the 90th minute himself as well. They won the match comfortably 2-0. (2-0 W)
  
• Avilés Hurtado , Dorlan Pabón & Stefan Medina (Monterrey vs. Monarcas) - Stefan Medina and Dorlan Pabón started. Avilés wasn't even on the bench (not sure why). Monterrey won the match 4-0 with Medina playing for full 90 minutes and Pabón getting replaced with 15 minutes to go. (4-0 W)
  
• Fabian Castillo (Trabzonspor vs. Antalyaspor) - He started on the right wing in a 4-5-1/4-4-1-1. It wasn't particularly one of his greatest games as he was withdrawn at half-time. His side won the match 3-0. (3-0 W)
  
• Daniel Torres (Deportivo Alavés vs. Las Palmas) - He was left on the bench again, but was brought on for Tomas Pina again for the last 30 minutes. He has been starting to get a little bit more gametime recently, which is positive. Alavés won 2-0. (2-0 W)
  
• José Izquierdo (Huddersfield vs. Brighton) - I don't know if it's the tough EPL fixture list, but he was left on the bench instead of their youngster Isaiah Brown. He was brought on for Pascal Gross with half an hour to go as Brighton was losing by two goals and they needed more firepower up front. He failed to make an impact and they lost 0-2. (0-2 L)
  
• Davinson Sánchez (Spurs vs. Stoke City) - He was suspended after earning a red card in their last league match. Eric Dier replaced him in defence. Stoke looked completely horrendous as Spurs gave them a 5-1 hammering. (5-1 W)
  
• Falcao (Monaco vs. Troyes) - He started in a 4-4-2/4-4-1-1 with Keita Balde Diao being a supporting striker to him. Monaco has looked somewhat bad lately and went 0-2 behind. They did manage to make a come-back scoring 3 goals with Guido Carrillo getting two of them in the last 5 minutes. Falcao looked motivated, but failed to score. He managed to get himself booked out of frustration. Monaco won 3-2. (3-2 W)
  
• James Rodríguez (Eintracht Frankfurt vs. Bayern) - Unfortunately I couldn't watch the match, but from what I know/have heard is that he started in a 4-3-3/4-2-3-1 in the middle as usual. He didn't have such an influential match as he usually does. He played for full 90 minutes as Bayern won 1-0. (0-1 W)
  
• Duván Zapata (Cagliari vs. Sampdoria) - He started next to Quagliarella in a 4-3-1-2 like always. This time he had a quiet game with Quagliarella getting both of his side's goals. Duván got subbed off late on in the game. It ended with a 2-2 draw. (2-2 D)
  
• Juan Cuadrado (Juventus vs. Inter) - He started in a 4-3-3 on the right wing with Higuain as a #9 and Mandžukić on the left wing. He played for full 90 minutes and had a rather quiet game as both teams looked very equal and didn't create too many chances. (0-0 D)
  
• Luis Muriel (Real Madrid vs. Sevilla) - He started as a lone striker in a 4-3-3 (I don't get what are they hoping for, he's isn't made for that role). Real Madrid dominated the match completely and won 5-0. Luis Muriel had a chance at the end of the game but pretty much fluffed his shot. He was on the pitch for full 90 minutes. (0-5 L)
  
• Fabian Castillo & Hugo Rodallega (Kasimpasa vs. Trabzonspor) - Fabian Castillo spent the entire match on the bench while Hugo Rodallega (he's no NT material, but considering the lack of goals this week I thought I'd mention this) came on for the last 5 minutes and got on the scoresheet. Trabzonspor won 3-0. (0-3 W)
  
• Carlos Sánchez (Napoli vs. Fiorentina) - He was on the bench as usual, but was brought on for Cyril Thereau with 20 minutes to go as Fiorentina took a more defensive approach. They managed to hold Napoli at bay and come away with a 0-0 draw, which is actually a great result for them. (0-0 D)
  
• Cristián Zapata (AC Milan vs. Bologna) - He was on the bench the entire game. Milan won 2-1. (2-1 W)
  
• Santiago Arias (Ajax vs. PSV) - He started as a right-back in a 4-3-3 formation. PSV and him didn't do so well as Ajax won the match 3-0. (0-3 L)
  
• Avilés Hurtado , Dorlan Pabón & Stefan Medina (Monterrey vs. Tigres) [Mexican Apertura Final 2nd leg] - First leg result was 1-1. All of them started - Stefan Medina as a right-back, Avilés Hurtado on the left and Dorlan Pabón on right wing in a 4-3-3. Dorlan Pabón opened the scoring on the 3rd minute with a golazo. Tigres managed to get an equalizer soon after, and then their Colombian centre-back Francisco Meza put them in front 1-2 with a nice header. Avilés Hurtado had a chance to bring Monterrey back into the game, but unfortunately he missed a penalty. At 2-2 they still would've needed another goal, so Tigres is this year's Liga MX champion. (1-2 L) (2-3 L on aggregate)
  
• Frank Fabra , Edwin Cardona & Wilmar Barrios (Estudiantes vs. Boca Juniors) - All of them started in their natural position except for Cardona who's back on the left wing. All of them played for full 90 minutes and Boca Juniors won the match thanks to an own goal from Rodrigo Brana (Edit: Actually I think it is Wilmar Barrios' goal.) (0-1 W)
  

Champions League matches

• James Rodríguez (Bayern vs. PSG) - He played in his favoured #10 position in a 4-2-3-1 with Ribéry to his left, Coman to his right, Lewandowski as a #9 and a double-pivot of Rudy and Tolisso behind him. He had a pretty good game as it's become a thing recently. It was basically one of the first times he actually had a chance to do something with the ball, and he immedietaly delivered as he managed to find Coman in the box with a tidy cross who headed it into Lewy's path who put them in front. Around 30 minutes into the match he provided a spectacular cross from the left flank to Tolisso who headed it in, making it 2-0. Mbappé managed to pull one back, but Tolisso made it 3-1 in the second half. James looked dangerous throughout the match, although despite the scoreline PSG was maybe a bit too unlucky to lose by such margin. He was replaced by Vidal with 10 minutes to go as Bayern switched to into a more defensive 4-3-3. Bayern and James look like a completely different thing under Heynckes as they beat PSG 3-1. (3-1 W)
  
• Éder Álvarez Balanta (Benfica vs. Basel) - He started on the left in a three man defence as usual in a 3-4-3 formation. He had a solid game as Basel kept another clean sheet beating Benfica 2-0. They advance to the knock-out stages as they end up 2nd in their group behind Manchester United. (0-2 W)
  
• Juan Cuadrado (Olympiakos vs. Juventus) - Max Allegri went back to their more common 4-2-3-1 formation having experimented with a 3-4-3 lately. Juan Cuadrado found himself back in the starting lineup on the right flank because of this, and it paid off immedietaly as he opened the scoring after converting a great cross from Alex Sandro. He came close to scoring on another two occasions, missing the target once and forcing a great save from the opposing goalkeeper later on in the game. It was a decent performance overall and he was was subbed off for Bernadeschi with ~7 minutes to go. The Italian got on the scoresheet himself as the game ended 2-0 for Juventus. (0-2 W)
  
• Felipe Pardo (Olympiakos vs. Juventus) - He started on the right wing in a 4-2-3-1 like Cuadrado and looked like one of the most dangerous players from the Olympiakos lineup creating multiple chances for his teammates and scoring almost himself if it weren't for a great save by Szczesny. He played for the full 90 minutes. (0-2 L)
  
• Falcao (Porto vs. Monaco) - Monaco pretty much went into this match with their B team as they stood no chance of qualifying even for the Europa League anymore. Falcao was brought for Guido Carrillo with 25 minutes to go as Monaco was 1-4 behind. He almost made an immediate impact but couldn't find the target against his former side. A few minutes later he got his goal after heading in a great cross from Keita Balde Diao making it 2-4. Porto killed off the game completely making it 2-5 shortly after that. It's a shame that they couldn't even finish in the 3rd place and are now out of Europe. (2-5 L)
  
• Luis Muriel (Maribor vs. Sevilla) - He was left on the bench as Ben Yedder started as a #9 in a 4-3-3. Luis Muriel was brought on for him for the last 15 minutes with the game being 1-1. He failed to make an impact and the score stood. (1-1 D)
  
• Davinson Sánchez (Spurs vs. APOEL) - Spurs decided to go mostly with their rotation players as they had already advanced from the group. Davinson Sánchez Started alongside Juan Foyth in a 4-2-3-1 as he's going to miss their league game because of a suspension. He didn't have much to deal with throughout the match having a solid game as Spurs won 3-0, winning the group ahead of Real Madrid. (3-0 W)
  

Europa League matches

• Cristián Zapata (Rijeka vs. AC Milan) - He started on the right in their three-man defence in a 3-5-2 formation. They were mostly playing with their reserve players as they had already won the group and were resting their main players. Milan lost 2-0 but you cannot say that he would've been fault for either goal. (2-0 L)
  
• David Ospina (Arsenal vs. BATE) - Ospina started between the posts and had a solid outing keeping a clean sheet while at it. Arsenal won 6-0. (6-0 W)
  

Injuries

• Carlos Bacca - He has an hamstring injury and his return date is unknown at this stage. He missed a very important match for Villarreal this weekend as they took on Barcelona and lost 0-2.
  
• Jeison Murillo - He has been out since November 20 and his return date is unknown. He has got some groin injury (inflammation?).
  
• Jhon Córdoba - He has been out since November 23 and should be back in the beginning of next year.
